We are working with an industryโleading software and analytics investment advisory firm based in London who are looking for a data analyst to join their data team. You will be working with institutional investor clients on the data analysis side of the investment performance and decisionโmaking process offering of the firm.
Working closely with Software Engineers, Quant Analysts and other Data Analysts to design reliable analytical modules in production ready python code. Strong python experience is a must.
Responsibilities
- Build complex Python scripts and Excel spreadsheets to process investment data
- Provide detailed financial and statistical analysis
- Assist clients when it comes to identifying behavioural patterns and root causes of investment decisions by exploring new data sets and analytical approaches
- Analyze and curate trade, process, and emotional data to identify fund managers' decision-making biases leading to sub-optimal trades
- Master the nuances of portfolio data, investor processes, and market dynamics, and adeptly apply your acquired knowledge to perform insightful analytical work
- Work closely with users, senior management, and stakeholders across various disciplines to develop complex analytics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience
- 1 - 4 years of data analysis work experience
- Highly Proficient in Python, Excel, SQL and Python Libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib and/or Seaborn)
- Comfortable working with version control systems (Git)
- Strong analytical thinking with high attention to detail and professional skepticism
- Comfortable visualizing data with libraries such as matplotlib and seaborn
- Excellent communication skills to simplify complex details for varied audiences
- Background in financial/investment services or within buy side firms would be a big plus
A background in financial data analysis, investment banking or financial services would be the preference for this role, along with having prior experience and knowledge of market data providers (Bloomberg etc).
