Job Description
My client is a top global insurance firm that is looking to bring on an Actuary to their claims insights team. Within this role, you would be expanding out their North American Catastrophe Projection Process and building out their CAT Dashboard. This is a unique opportunity that allows you to join a highly visible team, collaborating with the CAT risk, claims, IT, and business intelligence teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Improve CAT Projection Process: Focus on refining and expanding the Catastrophe (CAT) Projection Process through updates, solution development, and testing.
- Develop CAT Dashboard: Enhance the dashboard to integrate various data sources and improve projections.
- Support Reports: Assist in generating and analyzing CAT-related reports on a regular basis.
- Lead Special Projects: Oversee specific CAT-related analyses and models.
- Conduct Analyses: Perform various analyses to aid in decision-making beyond catastrophe-related topics.
- Contribute to Reports: Help with the analysis and commentary for periodic reports.
- Collaborate: Work with different teams to support data strategies and requirements for analysis.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in relevant actuarial roles; advanced actuarial credentials are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Skilled in Excel and familiar with VBA
- Analytical Tools: Knowledge of QlikSense, Power BI, or Cognos is beneficial.
- Skills: Strong analytical and project management skills; ability to work independently and manage challenges.
- Documentation: Effective in maintaining documentation and records.
- Communication: Able to communicate clearly with non-specialist stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
