Senior Windows Engineer - Infrastructure Security & Operations
Contract: 6 months extendable
Location: Porto, Portugal - hybrid (3 days onsite)
Sector: Global Capital Markets & Financial Infrastructure

Project Overview:

As a Senior Windows Engineer, you will take technical ownership of core Windows infrastructure services while putting security,reliability, and automation at the forefront. You will contribute to system architecture, policy design, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the Microsoft platform stack. You will work closely with Security, Operations, and Architecture teams to ensure robust, compliant, and high‑performing systems throughout the organisation.

Key programme focus areas include:

  • Strengthening Windows security baselines and remediation processes.
  • Enhancing vulnerability management across a large, distributed environment.
  • Automating configuration, patching, and compliance enforcement.
  • Supporting build, deployment, and lifecycle operations for the full Windows ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, secure, and maintain large‑scale Windows Server environments.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation and security baselining.
  • Manage AD, GPO, identity, and core Microsoft services.
  • Automate operational tasks (PowerShell, SCCM; Ansible a plus).
  • Support patching, OS lifecycle, and compliance activities.
  • Provide senior incident, problem, and change support.

Technical Environment:

  • Windows & Microsoft: Windows Server, AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, PKI.
  • Automation: PowerShell (advanced), SCCM, Ansible (desirable).
  • Security: Hardening, vulnerability management, compliance.
  • Operational: Monitoring, ITSM tooling, enterprise‑scale support.

Requirements:

  • Strong senior Windows engineering experience in large environments.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting (mandatory).
  • SCCM experience; Ansible is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work hybrid in Porto.
