Job Title: VP, Loan Operations
Location: Boston, MA or New York, NY (Hybrid)
Salary: $145k-$185k + bonus
Summary:
This role offers the opportunity to lead critical loan operations functions for a sophisticated credit investment platform, overseeing the integrity of the loan book of record and managing relationships with administrators, agent banks, and other key external partners. Working across Operations, Technology, Data, and Investment teams, you will drive operational excellence, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and implement automation initiatives that support portfolio growth. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in loan administration or loan operations, a strong understanding of complex loan lifecycle events, and a proven ability to enhance processes, manage third-party providers, and ensure operational scalability.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the loan portfolio across all internal systems, ensuring positions, cash movements, valuations, and related data remain aligned and up to date.
- Managing the day-to-day execution of loan operations activities, including reconciliations, exception management, and oversight of data accuracy.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for loan agents, servicers, administrators, and other external service providers supporting the portfolio.
- Providing oversight of complex loan lifecycle events such as amendments, restructurings, workouts, distressed situations, and other non-standard transactions.
- Identifying and implementing operational enhancements that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and support business growth.
- Partnering on technology initiatives, vendor evaluations, and infrastructure projects to optimize the loan operations platform.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:
- 10+ years of experience in loan operations, investment operations, or loan administration within an asset manager, banking institution, or similar financial services environment.
- A bachelor's degree is required; advanced credentials such as an MBA, CFA, or CPA are preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of private credit and broadly syndicated loan products, including operational oversight throughout the entire loan lifecycle.
- Experience overseeing loan records, cash activity, reconciliations, and data consistency across multiple operational platforms.
- Strong familiarity with loan servicing structures, administration systems, and operational processes.
- Demonstrated success driving workflow optimization, automation efforts, and operational control improvements.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and collaboration skills with both internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
