VP Distribution - Alternatives
Overview
The AVP of Hedge Fund Distribution is responsible for driving new business development and supporting strategic sales initiatives across alternative investment solutions, with a focus on hedge funds. This role builds new client relationships, supports senior leadership throughout the sales process, and provides ongoing service to existing clients to deepen engagement and grow allocations. The position also contributes to marketing efforts, CRM management, and broader business development initiatives aimed at increasing product visibility and converting prospects into long-term clients.
Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and develop prospective client relationships through proactive outreach to generate new opportunities
- Support senior distribution leadership across all stages of the sales process and key initiatives
- Maintain consistent client engagement within the assigned territory
- Assist in executing sales and marketing strategies for alternative investments
- Develop and maintain knowledge of market conditions and investment products
- Respond to client requests for reporting, analysis, and product comparisons
- Collaborate with marketing on campaigns and messaging
- Maintain CRM systems, run reports, and analyze performance data
- Travel periodically to support client meetings and relationship development
Key Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in internal sales or client-facing roles within financial services
- Active Series 7 and 63 (or 66) licenses with a clean record
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and client-service orientation
- Collaborative, proactive team player with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
- Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in a quantitative discipline
