Overview:
My client is seeking a highly experienced Trust Advisor to join their Fiduciary Services team. This role involves providing comprehensive support to Trustees and clients, managing a wide range of complex trust administration responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in trusts, estate planning, investments, and tax law, along with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a high level of discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze probate, fiduciary, retirement, and estate planning issues to develop tailored solutions for clients.
  • Interpret and review trust instruments, both draft and finalized.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, attorneys, tax preparers, and other advisors.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members to enhance internal processes.
  • Oversee the administration of new and existing accounts, including openings, distributions, terminations, and tax-related filings.
  • Manage projects and initiatives in collaboration with Trustees and the Head of Fiduciary Services.
  • Partner with Client Services to ensure consistent, policy-aligned account management.
  • Participate in the Fiduciary Risk Management Committee as assigned.
  • Evaluate and improve internal policies and procedures for greater efficiency.
  • Provide backup support for team members during absences.
  • Coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Maintain proficiency in relevant technology platforms and database systems.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure timely and accurate execution of client and trustee requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in trust administration.
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation or willingness to obtain it.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and trust/accounting systems (e.g., Sungard's AddVantage, ProFx, Estate Planning Tools).
  • Proven success in a client-facing environment with high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, manage loosely defined tasks, and support senior leadership.
  • Strong follow-through, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication abilities.
  • Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.

Reporting & Work Schedule:
This position reports to the Head of Fiduciary Services. It is a full-time, exempt role based in Boston, MA, with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote with approval). Flexibility in hours may occasionally be required.
