Trade Support System Engineer
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support trading systems before, during, and after market hours.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and incident management for complex production issues.
- Support order management, execution management, and trading infrastructure platforms.
- Maintain exchange connectivity, market data services, FIX connectivity, and third-party integrations.
- Partner with trading, operations, risk, and technology teams to resolve technical issues.
- Develop and enhance automation tools, monitoring solutions, and operational processes.
- Support system upgrades, release management, testing, and production changes.
- Participate in business continuity, disaster recovery, and exchange testing exercises.
- Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and support runbooks.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience supporting trading systems within financial markets environments.
- Strong understanding of securities, futures, and derivatives trading workflows.
- Experience supporting trading applications, trading infrastructure, or electronic trading platforms.
- Knowledge of market connectivity, FIX protocol, and market data environments.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration experience.
- Solid SQL skills for troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Experience with Python and/or Shell scripting for automation.
- Excellent problem-solving and incident management capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting institutional trading systems.
- Knowledge of exchange testing and production readiness exercises.
- Understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
- Exposure to regulatory and cybersecurity requirements within financial services.
- Experience working in fast-paced production support environments.
