Job Title: Investment Banking Associate - Shareholder Advisory
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Position Overview:
We are currently engaged with a globally recognized elite boutique investment bank that is seeking to expand its Shareholder Advisory team in Los Angeles. This team is at the forefront of advising clients on complex and high-stakes matters related to shareholder activism, corporate governance, contested M&A, and other strategic advisory situations. The firm is widely respected for its deep sector knowledge, rigorous analytical approach, and consistent track record of delivering best-in-class execution on high-profile transactions.

This is a unique opportunity for a talented and driven Associate to join a high-impact team that plays a critical role in shaping strategic outcomes for leading public companies, boards of directors, and institutional investors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of advisory mandates related to shareholder activism, hostile takeovers, proxy contests, and other complex corporate situations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models and perform valuation analyses to support strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare high-quality client deliverables, including pitch books, shareholder analyses, white papers, and board presentations.
  • Conduct in-depth research on shareholder bases, governance structures, and market trends to inform client strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with senior bankers and clients throughout the advisory process, often in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring accuracy and quality in all work products.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1+ years of full-time Investment Banking experience, ideally with exposure to M&A, activism defense, or strategic advisory.
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced financial modeling and valuation capabilities.
  • Experience preparing pitch materials, CIMs, and other client-facing documents.
  • Solid understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and transaction structuring.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a strong desire to grow within a high-performance culture.
