Senior Manager, Accounting
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Month End Close, work in process reporting, and general ledger.
- Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, and tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements; anticipate future legislation; enforce adherence; file financial reports; advise management on needed actions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies.
- Manage teams supporting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, statutory reporting, tax, and treasury functions.
- Monitor bank account balances to ensure appropriate working capital and cash ratios.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Complete special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in the use of personal computers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and motivate team members to accomplish objectives.
- Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience required; financial analysis experience preferred.
- CPA designation required.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Health plan experience strongly preferred.
- Big 5 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
