About the Role
We are currently partnering with a well-established corporate bank in Amsterdam that is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join their close-knit compliance team. This is a high-impact role where you will play a key part in ensuring the bank's adherence to regulatory requirements, conducting compliance monitoring, and managing financial crime risks.
This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned compliance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to take ownership of a broad range of compliance topics within a supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret relevant Dutch and EU regulations, advising the business on compliance obligations and regulatory developments.
- Compliance Monitoring: Design and execute the compliance monitoring plan, conduct reviews, and report findings to senior management.
- Financial Crime: Oversee AML/CTF, sanctions screening, and anti-bribery and corruption frameworks. Support investigations and SAR reporting.
- Advisory & Training: Provide day-to-day compliance advice to business units and deliver training sessions to enhance compliance awareness.
- Policy Development: Draft, review, and update internal compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory expectations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a compliance role, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as Wwft/AML, Wft, GDPR, etc.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Language: Fluency in Dutch and English
- Mindset: Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a small team setting.
