Title: Senior Claims Specialist - FinPro
Location: Hybrid - New York, NY; Syracuse, NY; Chicago, IL
Position Overview:
One top tier insurance carriers is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Claims Specialist to their team. This role will be responsible for directly handling public and private d&o, fiduciary liability, and a small pending of EPL claims. The ideal candidate will have Side A coverage experience with a heavy d&o and legal background.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex claims through the full claim lifecycle, driving strategic resolutions that balance customer outcomes, financial stewardship, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze coverage, identify potential exposures, and communicate timely, well-supported coverage positions.
- Conduct detailed investigations, evaluate liability and damages, and establish accurate reserves to reflect claim exposure.
- Collaborate with and direct defense counsel on litigated matters, developing effective strategies to achieve favorable claim outcomes.
- Apply industry best practices and sound claims judgment to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality claim handling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field, J.D. preferred.
- 5+ years experience of D&O claims handling experience.
- Expertise in excess management liability claims.
- Strong analytic and communication skills.
