A well‑established organization in the financial services and insurance space is seeking an Employee Benefits Specialist to join its Human Resources team in Houston, Texas. This is a fully on‑site role and a key position supporting the design, delivery, and ongoing management of a comprehensive total rewards strategy.

The Opportunity

This role will serve as a subject‑matter expert across employee benefits administration, HRIS configuration, and self‑insured plan management. You'll partner closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and operationally sound.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee open enrollment from planning through execution, including employee communications and system readiness
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Dayforce HRIS modules related to benefits and total rewards
  • Manage annual benefits renewals, including plan analysis, cost modeling, and strategy recommendations
  • Support and evolve the organization's total rewards programs, aligning benefits with broader compensation and retention goals
  • Own benefits administration for self‑insured health plans, including vendor oversight and issue resolution
  • Drive plan design changes, carrier negotiations, and vendor transitions as needed
  • Partner with brokers, TPAs, and internal teams to ensure smooth ongoing operations and regulatory compliance

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in an employee benefits or benefits administration role
  • Strong background supporting self‑insured health plans
  • Hands‑on experience configuring HRIS systems, specifically Dayforce (or comparable enterprise HRIS platforms)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage renewals, plan design changes, and vendor relationships
  • Comfortable operating autonomously and acting as an internal benefits expert
  • Ability to work on‑site in Houston, Texas on a full‑time basis

Why This Role?

  • High‑visibility role with ownership over benefits strategy and execution
  • Opportunity to directly influence plan design and total rewards outcomes
  • Stable organization with complex, meaningful benefits programs
