Senior Associate - Financial Regulations
A leading international law firm is looking for a Senior Associate to join its Financial Markets practice in Amsterdam. The role suits a Dutch qualified lawyer with strong experience in banking, capital markets and financial regulation who wants to take on more responsibility in a busy, high-profile team. You'll advise banks, asset managers, trading venues, fintechs and corporates on complex cross-border transactions and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on a wide range of financial markets work, including debt and equity capital markets, structured finance, derivatives, securitisation and regulatory matters under Dutch and EU law (MiFID II, EMIR, CRR/CRD, MiCA, DORA, AIFMD and UCITS)
- Run day-to-day work on transactions from start to finish, working closely with Partners, Counsel and teams in other offices
- Give regulatory advice to clients dealing with the AFM and DNB, covering licensing, authorisations and ongoing compliance
- Draft, negotiate and review complex finance and capital markets documents
- Build strong client relationships and help with business development
- Supervise and mentor junior associates
- Track regulatory developments and contribute to client alerts, publications and market insights
Candidate Profile
- Dutch qualified lawyer with 4-7 years' experience, gained at a leading law firm
- Strong technical knowledge of financial markets, banking, capital markets or financial regulatory law
- Able to manage matters independently and be a trusted point of contact for clients
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- Commercially minded and keen to help grow the practice
- Works well with others, both in the team and across international offices
