Risk and Market Data Engineer
A leading global hedge fund is seeking a Software Engineer to join a newly formed team building a next-generation data platform for risk analytics and decision-making. This group is part of a major new equities-focused business led by one of the industry's most notable hires, managing a multi-billion-dollar investment mandate.
This is a greenfield opportunity to design and implement scalable data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and deliver tools that provide actionable insights to investors. You'll work closely with senior technologists and quantitative risk leaders in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, shaping the risk infrastructure for one of the most ambitious launches in the hedge fund space.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and warehousing solutions for risk analytics
- Develop APIs and dashboards to disseminate risk metrics and insights across the investment team
- Collaborate with technology and quantitative research leaders to align systems with risk objectives
- Contribute to technical strategy and innovation in data platform architecture
Qualifications
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Spark, dbt, Iceberg) and AWS
- Proven ability to build scalable data pipelines and APIs
- Interest in risk analytics and financial markets
- Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience in financial services or risk technology
- Familiarity with dashboard development and data visualization
