Vice President of Capital Formation
Job Overview:
A leading real estate investment firm is seeking a Vice President Capital Formation to help lead fundraising efforts for the firm. This individual will work closely with senior leadership to cultivate relationships with institutional investors in the western region of the US.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute capital raising initiatives across new fund launches, re-ups, co-investments, and customized investor solutions
- Build, manage, and advance relationships with institutional investors, family offices, consultants, and high-net-worth individuals
- Serve as a key point of contact for prospective and existing investors, managing ongoing dialogue, diligence processes, and follow-ups
- Prepare and deliver investor-facing materials, including pitchbooks, teasers, DDQs, RFPs, data room content, quarterly updates, and AGM materials
- Partner closely with the investment, finance, and legal teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in external messaging
- Participate in investor meetings, roadshows, conferences, and due diligence sessions, representing the firm's strategy and track record
- Maintain and manage the investor pipeline using CRM tools; track fundraising progress and investor activity
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to senior leadership on investor sentiment, fundraising trends, and competitive positioning
Qualifications
- 7-12+ years of experience in capital formation, investor relations, fundraising, or institutional business development within real estate private equity, real assets, or alternatives
- Strong understanding of real estate investment strategies, fund structures, and institutional allocators
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading fundraising efforts with institutional LPs, consultants, and/or private wealth channels
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex investment strategies clearly and concisely
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple processes simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or similar credentials a plus
