Reference Data Ops Analyst - Futures (Tier 1 Fund)
We're working with a world class global investment firm to find a skilled Reference Data Operations Analyst to join their team on a contract basis, covering a key team member's leave. This role sits within the Reference Data Product Management group and plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth daily operation of enterprise reference data systems-particularly those supporting the futures markets.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex data challenges, and has a strong understanding of financial instruments-especially in futures, with commodities, energy, or power markets experience being a strong plus.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage daily operational processes related to instrument master data, third-party data, and end-of-day pricing.
- Follow and enhance a structured playbook of operational procedures and controls.
- Collaborate with front and back-office teams to triage and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
- Contribute to incident management by capturing and analyzing metadata related to reference data issues.
- Generate regular operational reports for internal reviews and performance tracking.
- Partner with technologists, project managers, and analysts to support system upgrades and process improvements.
What We're Looking For:
- 3-8 years of experience in financial services, ideally in operations or production support roles tied to trading or investment data.
- Strong working knowledge of futures markets is essential; exposure to commodities, energy, or power markets is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with reference data or security master systems is a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial instruments-experience with convertibles, corporate bonds, or ABS is a bonus.
- Proficiency in data tools like SQL and Excel; Python knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a passion for process design and automation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
