Program Underwriter - Commercial Lines (Remote)
About the Opportunity
We are partnered with a leading national program administrator seeking a Program Underwriter to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role sits within a well-established programs division with strong carrier backing and a diverse portfolio of niche commercial lines programs.
This is an opportunity to work across delegated authority programs, supporting underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and broker engagement within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite and manage risks within assigned specialty commercial programs under delegated authority
- Evaluate submissions, pricing, coverage structure, and exposure across various lines (primarily Property & Casualty)
- Support program performance, including profitability, growth, and retention metrics
- Partner with program managers, carriers, and distribution partners to execute underwriting strategy
- Analyze portfolio trends, loss activity, and rate adequacy to drive underwriting decisions
- Assist with program audits, compliance, and adherence to carrier guidelines
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3-7+ years of commercial underwriting experience, preferably within programs or delegated authority environments
- Exposure to P&C lines (Property, GL, Package, or specialty lines)
- Experience working with or supporting MGA/program business strongly preferred
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk and portfolio performance
- Familiarity with carrier underwriting guidelines and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
