We're currently partnered with a multi-billion AUM Tech/Software-focused Buyout Private Equity firm based in LA that is looking to add on a Senior Associate to its investment team. The firm recently closed a nearly $1.5 Billion fund, providing significant dry powder for new deals. This is a career-track opportunity with a highly competitive compensation package that includes carry. Start date for this role is Q1 of 2026 but the firm is beginning to conduct interviews now.

Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing Support: Assist in evaluating inbound opportunities and selectively participate in proactive sourcing within the tech/software space.
  • Transaction Execution: Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence for new investments.
  • Investment Analysis: Build and stress-test LBO models, perform sensitivity analyses, and assess returns under various scenarios.
  • Due Diligence Coordination: Manage third-party advisors (legal, accounting, commercial) and ensure timely completion of diligence workstreams.
  • Investment Committee Materials: Draft and present investment memos, supporting recommendations with data-driven insights.
  • Closing Process: Oversee documentation and execution steps to ensure smooth transaction close.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Track post-investment performance metrics and assist in strategic initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2-3 years in private equity with significant deal execution experience (preferably buyouts) as well as an additional 1-3 years spent in investment banking (ideally covering M&A related transactions).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, LBO analysis, and valuation techniques.
  • Industry Knowledge: Exposure to technology/software sectors (SaaS, enterprise software, tech-enabled services).
  • Analytical Ability: Strong quantitative skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills for preparing investment materials and interacting with senior stakeholders.
