Private Equity Associate
Selby Jennings is partnering with a Houston-based private equity firm to identify a high-performing Associate to join its investment team. The firm focuses on growth-oriented investments across middle-market companies, with a strong track record in sectors such as industrials, infrastructure, and business services. This is an opportunity to join an already established team and gain extensive reps on deals as well as upward mobility. The ideal candidate will have 2 years IB experience but will also consider anyone who has done two years of sellside and one year of buyside experience for a lateral hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support deal execution, including financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence.
- Conduct industry research and evaluate market trends to identify investment opportunities.
- Prepare and present investment committee materials and deal memos.
- Collaborate with portfolio companies to drive strategic initiatives and monitor performance.
- Assist in fundraising efforts, including LP communications and data room management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in:
- Investment banking
- Private equity
- Growth equity
- Strong command of Excel-based financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills.
- Passion for investing and building businesses in capital-intensive sectors.
