Post Trade Operations Associate
A leading global trading organization is seeking a Clearing Operations Associate to join its Post‑Trade Operations team in Chicago. The ideal candidate brings strong post‑trade experience and a deep understanding of trade lifecycles across major asset classes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with traders, brokers, and global support teams while taking ownership of critical daily functions, new business onboarding, and process improvements across a fast‑paced, multi‑product environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute core post‑trade operational functions, including trade capture, lifecycle management, reconciliation, and break resolution across multiple products and venues.
- Support the onboarding of new business initiatives, including new products, markets, strategies, and broker relationships.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to enhance back‑office infrastructure, improving efficiency and scalability.
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvements and workflow enhancements.
- Maintain ongoing communication with counterparties, prime brokers, traders, and internal teams across global regions.
- Manage external relationships with technology vendors, brokers, and financial institutions.
Requirements
- Approximately 5 years of post‑trade operations experience (or 4 years from a direct competitor).
- Strong product knowledge and full lifecycle operational exposure within at least one major asset class (e.g., equities, treasuries, futures, FX, options, or swaps).
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement, project management, and/or business analysis.
- Proven ability to manage large data sets with accuracy under tight deadlines.
