Medical Economics Analyst

We have a current opportunity for a Medical Economics Analyst on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Medical Economics Analyst to join our healthcare analytics team. This role will focus on supporting value-based care (VBC) initiatives by delivering actionable insights through data analysis, financial modeling, and performance evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare economics, data analytics, and a passion for improving patient outcomes while reducing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze healthcare utilization, cost, and quality data to evaluate the performance of value-based care programs.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess the impact of alternative payment models (APMs), including shared savings, bundled payments, and capitation.
  • Collaborate with clinical, actuarial, and operational teams to identify opportunities for cost containment and quality improvement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for provider networks and accountable care organizations (ACOs).
  • Support contract negotiations with providers by delivering data-driven insights and forecasts.
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, preferably in a payer or provider setting.
  • Strong understanding of value-based care models, healthcare reimbursement, and population health management.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, Python) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
