We are currently representing an exciting Multi-Strategy Hedge fund who take a quantitative approach to trading. They are seeking a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Long/Short Equity Portfolio Manager to lead a dedicated strategy focused on Japanese Equities. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a market-neutral long/short equity portfolio focused on Japan.
- Generate alpha through fundamental research, idea generation, and active risk management.
- Collaborate with global teams while maintaining autonomy over portfolio construction and execution.
- Adhere to the funds disciplined risk framework and compliance standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Excellent academics, graduating from top performing universities with a degree in a related field.
- Proven track record of alpha generation in Japanese equities within a long/short framework.
- Deep understanding of Japan's corporate landscape, macroeconomic drivers, and regulatory environment.
- Minimum 5 years of portfolio management or trading experience.
- Strong risk-adjusted returns and a clear investment philosophy.
- Ability to operate independently while contributing to a collegiate, high-performance culture.
