Compensation: $200,000 Base + Bonus

Job Description

We are partnered with a middlemarket-focused investment bank headquartered in Ellicott City, MD, seeking a Vice President, Investment Banking to support the firm's continued growth. The team provides M&A advisory services to businesses throughout all stages of their lifecycle, delivered by professionals with deep experience in buying, scaling, and selling companies.

This role will primarily focus on healthy, lower middlemarket businesses within the sell-side M&A space. As a Vice President, you will be a key contributor and leader, overseeing the execution of multiple transactions simultaneously while managing junior team members and maintaining high-quality client service.

Responsibilities

As part of our team, you will:

  • Collaborate with Principals and Directors to manage and drive all aspects of deal execution.
  • Lead the creation of confidential information memoranda, pitch decks, buyer/investor lists, and detailed financial analyses.
  • Oversee the daytoday workflow of active transactions, including client deliverables, outreach coordination, and due diligence management.
  • Review, refine, and provide direction on analyses, materials, and communications prepared by junior bankers.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, colleagues, and prospective buyers/investors to gather information, provide updates, and address diligence inquiries.
  • Support senior leadership in evaluating bandwidth, assigning staffing resources, and ensuring smooth execution across all active deals.
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior bankers throughout the endtoend M&A process.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of sellside Investment Banking experience
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities and exceptional business writing skills
  • A genuine interest in deal execution and developing junior talent
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders

This position requires 5 days per week in the Ellicott City, MD office.
