A leading independent investment bank is seeking a highly motivated Debt Advisory Associate to join its growing Capital Transformation & Debt Advisory practice. This team advises top‑tier corporate and financial sponsor clients on capital structure optimisation, liability management, debt financing, refinancing, ratings strategy, and complex capital markets situations.
This is a unique opportunity to build deep expertise alongside senior bankers with extensive Wall Street experience within a high‑momentum, entrepreneurial platform.
What You'll Do
- Support execution of a wide range of debt advisory mandates, including refinancing, leveraged finance transactions, liability management initiatives, and capital raises.
- Build, refine, and evaluate advanced financial models, including capital structure analyses, liquidity forecasting, credit metric evaluation, cash flow modeling, and scenario/sensitivity analyses.
- Conduct credit analysis, market research, and lender/investor bench marking across the high‑yield, leveraged loan, private credit, and structured capital markets.
- Prepare client‑facing materials such as pitch presentations, financing analyses, ratings materials, lender presentations, and capital structure reviews.
- Work directly with senior bankers and gain meaningful exposure to clients, credit investors, and lending institutions throughout the financing process.
- Collaborate with sector coverage teams and M&A teams to deliver integrated and strategic capital solutions.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of investment banking experience, ideally within debt advisory, leveraged finance, capital markets, or M&A.
- Strong financial modeling capabilities and a solid understanding of credit metrics, capital structure concepts, and financing markets.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the maturity to interface directly with senior executives and financing counterparts.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams concurrently in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- A collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with a strong desire to take on increasing responsibility.
