HPC Storage Engineer

About the Role:
A global technology-driven firm is seeking a seasoned Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join its high-performance computing environment. This role is critical to scaling and optimizing the firm's global storage systems, supporting data-intensive research and engineering operations across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, implement, and manage large-scale, high-performance storage platforms to support global operations.
  • Partner with engineering and research teams to deliver robust, scalable storage solutions that accelerate data workflows and computational performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across storage, Linux systems, and networking layers in a high-demand environment.
  • Integrate storage systems with distributed compute clusters, ensuring seamless operation across diverse hardware and software environments.
  • Participate in global support rotations, ensuring 24/7 uptime and rapid incident response.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and managing storage systems in large-scale compute environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with storage technologies such as Lustre, GPFS, S3, BeeGFS, Weka, Ceph, Vast, PowerScale, DDN, or MinIO.
  • Strong Linux engineering background, including bare-metal provisioning and kernel-level understanding.
  • Deep knowledge of storage stack internals, including file systems, block storage, I/O schedulers, and VFS.
  • Proven ability to benchmark and tune storage systems for performance (throughput, latency, IOPS).
  • Familiarity with hardware components critical to storage performance (e.g., NVMe, PCIe, NICs, PMEM, RedFish).
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming with Rust, Python, Go, or Bash.
