About the Role:
Selby Jennings is working with a boutique bank in NYC who is seeking a dynamic and strategic banking professional to lead their lending operations and broader banking initiatives. As the Head of Lending, you will play a critical role in shaping the bank's credit strategy, driving loan portfolio growth, and ensuring sound risk management practices. This is a key leadership position reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive team to deliver sustainable growth and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the bank's lending strategy across commercial, residential, and consumer portfolios, aligned with overall business objectives.
* Credit Oversight: Lead credit policy development, underwriting standards, and portfolio risk management to ensure asset quality and regulatory compliance.
* Team Management: Oversee and mentor the lending, credit, and relationship management teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Business Development: Drive loan growth through strategic client acquisition, relationship management, and market expansion initiatives.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, compliance, operations, and technology teams to enhance lending processes and customer experience.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all federal and state banking regulations, including safety and soundness standards.
* Executive Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Board and executive leadership on loan performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
* Proven executive experience in commercial banking, with a strong background in credit, lending, and portfolio management.
* Deep understanding of banking regulations, credit risk, and financial analysis.
* Demonstrated success in leading teams and driving growth in a competitive market.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.

* Experience in a community or regional bank environment.
* Familiarity with the New York City market and its lending landscape.
* Track record of innovation in lending products or digital banking solutions.
