Data Analyst
About the Role:
We are seeking a curious, hands-on, and technically skilled individual to join our team in Orange County. This role is ideal for someone early in their career (new graduate or 1-2 years of experience) who thrives in a fast-paced, environment and enjoys solving logic problems with code and automation.
You'll work closely with a small team to build internal applications that automate workflows, transform data, and integrate with financial systems. This is a unique opportunity to make a direct impact by reducing manual work and introducing intelligent automation into our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain internal tools and workflows using Python
- Automate manual processes, including data transformations and integrations with accounting systems
- Work with XML files, Google Cloud infrastructure, and large Excel projects
- Apply data science and AI techniques to interpret unstructured data (e.g., wire transfer blobs)
- Build logic into Excel and invoke models from platforms like OpenAI
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and prototype solutions
- Contribute to a culture of experimentation and rapid iteration
Qualifications:
- Strong coding skills in Python (especially with NumPy and Pandas)
- Familiarity with data analytics and basic data science concepts
- Understanding of finance or accounting workflows is highly beneficial
- Experience with Google Cloud or similar cloud platforms
- Comfortable working with Excel, including complex logic and fuzzy data problems
- Self-starter with a hacker mindset, able to prototype quickly and iterate
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Profile:
- Computer Science or related major (recent graduate or 1-2 years out)
- Based in or willing to relocate to Orange County, CA
- Enjoys being onsite and collaborating in person
