Job Summary
The Head of Distribution for Standard Lines is responsible for shaping and executing strategic distribution initiatives across the Independent Agency Channel. This role serves as the primary liaison for agency relationships, aligning key partnerships with business segment goals to drive premium growth and profitability. Collaborating closely with Business Segment Leadership, the role leads the development and execution of the Standard Lines Distribution Strategy, ensuring alignment with competitive business objectives. This includes oversight of agency compensation, segmentation, and relationship management, with a focus on enhancing engagement and performance across various agency archetypes. The position may also directly manage relationships with national brokers and franchisors, providing strategic guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and evolution of the Standard Lines distribution strategy, ensuring alignment with segment business goals and the Independent Agency Channel.
- Drive strategic initiatives to optimize distribution channels, including traditional agencies, brokers, digital platforms, direct, and alternative models.
- Oversee planning and execution of the distribution strategy, guiding agency compensation, segmentation, and relationship management through the centralized Distribution Management function.
- Represent the brand in the marketplace, ensuring a consistent and impactful experience for agents, partners, and customers.
- Partner with Business Segment Leadership to align staffing, planning, and resource allocation with revenue and growth objectives.
- Direct revenue planning, market strategy, forecasting, and performance analysis to ensure cross-functional alignment and goal achievement.
- Manage communications and support for complex agency structures such as brokers, franchisors, aggregators, banks, and private equity groups.
- Oversee agency lifecycle activities including appointments, rehabilitations, terminations, and M&A coordination, ensuring smooth transitions and operational alignment.
- Conduct periodic reviews of agency needs and service models to maintain strategic alignment and competitiveness.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, providing accurate forecasts and variance analyses.
- Lead talent management efforts, including hiring, succession planning, performance management, and employee development to foster a high-performing team.
- Travel up to 50% of the time to support essential business functions, including short-notice trips and daily driving as needed.
