Position Summary:
The Commercial Lines Product Manager will oversee the creation and rollout of new insurance programs within the commercial lines space. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring deep technical expertise to design, refine, and implement insurance products that align with market demands and support company growth.
This individual will analyze industry trends and competitive landscapes to identify key market segments, translating business goals into actionable product plans and development roadmaps from concept to launch.
The Product Manager will manage all facets of multistate product development-including pricing, coverage, rules, and guidelines-ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across all applicable states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the end-to-end product development cycle, including drafting initial rates, rules, and forms for new offerings as directed by leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-Sales, Risk Management, Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Legal, Systems, and Compliance-to gather input and ensure products are comprehensive, profitable, and market-ready.
- Oversee regulatory filing processes for new programs, including compiling and submitting responses to state inquiries within required timelines.
- Communicate product details and implementation requirements to internal teams, ensuring seamless integration into policy administration systems.
- Define reporting needs to monitor product performance and work with data teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of metrics over time.
- Validate system functionality before and after product launches to confirm alignment with programming specifications across all platforms.
- Develop detailed programming requirements to support pricing analysis, segmentation, financial and statistical reporting, and regulatory data calls.
- Support onboarding and technical training of team members.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in property and casualty insurance and share insights with product and business teams.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- Minimum of five years' experience in commercial lines product management within the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of ISO forms, rules, and regulatory filing procedures; experience analyzing competitor filings and market data is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in commercial P&C insurance, with a successful track record in product development and ROI achievement.
- Advanced data analysis skills and the ability to identify trends and insights.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute product plans effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of market dynamics and business principles.
- Familiarity with SERFF and IRFS filing systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering accurate results on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
The position will be in office based in Sarasota, Miami, or Orlando.
