Fund Accounting Manager - Real Estate Private Equity
Location: Ohio (Hybrid)
A leading real estate private equity firm is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to join its growing finance team. This is a high-impact role offering direct exposure to senior leadership, complex fund structures, and a diverse portfolio of real estate investments across multiple asset classes.
This individual will take ownership of fund-level accounting, reporting, and investor deliverables, while managing relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle fund accounting for multiple real estate investment vehicles (open-end and closed-end funds, JVs, and SPVs)
- Review and approve NAV calculations, financial statements, and investor reporting packages
- Manage capital activity including capital calls, distributions, and waterfall calculations
- Coordinate with third-party fund administrators to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
- Lead quarterly and annual reporting processes, including audit and tax coordination
- Partner closely with asset management, acquisitions, and investor relations teams
- Drive process improvements and support system enhancements across the accounting function
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6-10+ years of experience in fund accounting, with exposure to private equity or real estate funds
- Strong knowledge of capital structures, waterfalls, and fund mechanics
- Experience working with or overseeing fund administrators
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with fund accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
