Senior Software Developer - Full Stack
Elite Hedge Fund is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Developer - Full Stack with 10+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering complex enterprise applications. This role requires advanced hands-on expertise in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar, TypeScript/Node.js, React.js, and cloud-native architectures leveraging modern cloud technologies.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled technical contributor who can drive software development efforts, partner with cross-functional teams, and deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions. This individual will play a key role in application architecture, development, and optimization while contributing to best practices across the engineering organization.
This position is based in the New York office with a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance full-stack applications using React.js, backend programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar, and TypeScript/Node.js.
- Develop and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs, ensuring scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
- Serve as a senior technical contributor, applying strong object-oriented programming principles, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Build and support cloud-based solutions leveraging modern cloud technologies, including services related to:
- API Management
- Event Streaming and Messaging
- Serverless Computing
- Application Hosting Platforms
- Relational Database Services
- Design and optimize data models, access patterns, and integrations across SQL and NoSQL data stores.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and containerized environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, estimation, execution, and delivery.
- Perform code reviews, contribute to development standards, and maintain technical documentation throughout the software lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement long-term solutions to improve application reliability and performance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on full-stack software engineering experience, including:
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar
- Expertise with TypeScript/Node.js and React.js
- Strong background in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, architectural patterns, software design principles, and modern engineering methodologies
- Extensive experience designing, building, and supporting microservices and REST APIs.
- Strong experience developing and deploying applications using modern cloud technologies and cloud-native design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, and modern DevOps practices.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL platforms (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or similar).
- Proven ability to work independently on complex technical initiatives while collaborating effectively across engineering and business teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience operating within Agile software development environments.
