FIG Investment Banking Analyst/Associate
A leading middle market investment bank is looking to add an Analyst or Associate to its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in New York. The team is experiencing strong deal flow across multiple FIG verticals and offers the opportunity to work on high-impact M&A and capital markets transactions in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. In this role you would:
- Work directly with senior bankers on live M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates
- Gain exposure across FIG subsectors, including specialty finance, asset & wealth management, insurance, and fintech
- Take on meaningful responsibility in lean deal teams with significant client interaction
- Join a platform that is actively growing and investing in its FIG franchise
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain complex financial models (DCF, LBO, merger models, comparables)
- Prepare pitch materials, client presentations, and transaction documentation (CIMs, management presentations)
- Conduct in-depth industry and company research across FIG sectors
- Support execution of live transactions, including due diligence and process management
- Collaborate closely with senior bankers and clients throughout the deal lifecycle
Qualifications
- 1-3 years (Analyst) or 3-5 years (Associate) of investment banking or relevant transaction experience
- Prior experience in FIG, financial services, or a related vertical strongly preferred, but not required
- Willing to consider candidates from related backgrounds (Transaction Advisory Services, Valuations, Corporate Finance, etc.)
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skillset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
