Description:

A private commercial lender is looking for a seasoned Client Portfolio Manager at the Associate Director level to join our fast-paced, entrepreneurial financial services team. In this role, you'll serve as a strategic partner to a diverse portfolio of high-growth businesses-managing client relationships, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring robust credit practices. Ideal candidates are analytical, client-focused, and thrive in dynamic environments where they can make a meaningful impact through operational excellence and collaborative problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
  • Understand each client's business model, strategic goals, and operational challenges to provide tailored financial solutions and guidance.
  • Monitor the financial health and operational performance of assigned clients through regular analysis of financial statements, borrowing base certificates, and other collateral reporting.
  • Ensure that all credit structures remain sound and aligned with internal risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support credit decisions, including interim reviews, annual renewals, and amendment requests.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and credit teams to ensure a seamless transition from deal origination to portfolio management.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in commercial banking, asset-based lending, or a related financial services field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in credit analysis, portfolio management, and ABL (asset-based lending) structuring.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, collateral analysis, and borrowing base monitoring
  • High proficiency in financial modeling and Excel-based analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
