Our client is a global corporate and investment bank with a strong and growing presence across Asia-Pacific. With a well-established platform supporting multinational corporates and institutional clients, the bank continues to invest in strengthening its regional risk management capabilities.

As part of this growth, they are seeking a Corporate Credit Risk Lead to join their Singapore office. This is a senior, hands-on role with direct ownership of a diversified corporate portfolio, offering deep exposure to credit decision-making, counterparty risk management, and structured financing transactions across the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the credit and counterparty risk of a portfolio of corporate clients across Asia-Pacific, including multinational corporates and subsidiary banking relationships
  • Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing counterparties, including borrowers and guarantors, and recommend appropriate facility structures, terms, and risk mitigants
  • Prepare and review credit applications, internal ratings, financial analyses, and periodic credit reviews in line with internal policies and regulatory standards
  • Evaluate transaction structures across a range of financing products, identifying structural and documentation risks in complex deals
  • Monitor portfolio performance on an ongoing basis, identifying early warning signals and proposing actionable risk-reducing measures
  • Ensure proper maintenance of credit and collateral documentation, in compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Legal, Compliance, and global risk teams to ensure alignment on credit decisions and risk frameworks
  • Contribute to credit process enhancements, regulatory initiatives, and digitalisation projects to improve efficiency and control
  • Support senior management with portfolio-level analysis, risk reporting, and ad hoc credit or counterparty risk assessments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience (typically 12+ years) in corporate credit risk, counterparty risk, or credit analysis within a bank or financial institution
  • Strong expertise in analysing corporate financial statements (IFRS preferred), credit risk modelling, and internal rating methodologies
  • Proven experience handling complex corporate structures and structured financing transactions such as leveraged finance, acquisition finance, or project finance
  • Solid understanding of lending products including bilateral loans, syndicated facilities, and trade finance
  • Deep knowledge of Singapore credit regulations and familiarity with broader APAC regulatory frameworks is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate independently in a high-accountability environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders across front office and control functions
