Corporate Banking Relationship Manager Amsterdam

A leading international financial institution is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President - Relationship Manager to join its Corporate Banking team in Amsterdam. This role focuses on managing and expanding relationships with the European subsidiaries of multinational corporations, supporting global client strategies, and driving cross-sell opportunities across a wide range of banking products.

You will be part of a high-performing team that provides dedicated coverage across diverse sectors including Healthcare, Natural Resources, TMT, Transportation, Infrastructure, and General Industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of sophisticated corporate clients, acting as the local point of contact and supporting global relationship leads.
  • Originate and execute corporate banking transactions, including credit proposals, liquidity solutions, and structured finance deals.
  • Collaborate closely with product specialists to deliver tailored solutions across transaction banking, FX, derivatives, capital markets, and project finance.
  • Prepare and review internal documentation, including credit applications, marketing materials, and client call reports.
  • Monitor credit quality, operational risk, and profitability of the portfolio, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Lead account planning and business development initiatives to drive revenue growth and deepen client engagement.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing best practices and contributing to team development.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and credit teams, to ensure smooth execution of transactions and adherence to governance frameworks.
  • Represent the bank at client meetings, industry events, and CSR initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong academic background, ideally in economics, finance, or business administration.
  • Proven experience in corporate relationship management, subsidiary banking, or a product-focused commercial banking role.
  • Solid understanding of credit risk, financial analysis, and corporate banking products.
  • Familiarity with European markets and regulatory frameworks, including KYC and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages (e.g., Dutch) are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • A proactive, client-focused mindset with a strategic approach to business development.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
