Salary: $100,000-$120,000
Company Summary: A global commodities trader is looking to hire a business-critical Product Controller to add to its finance team. The organization manages the sourcing, movement, storage, and sale of physical products across multiple markets, requiring strong coordination between trading, logistics, and accounting functions. The role sits within a lean, collaborative team and offers exposure to both financial reporting and operational processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly close activities, including journal entries, P&L analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned product lines
- Perform inventory and gross margin reconciliations, ensuring alignment between trading activity and financials
- Support reporting automation and system improvements (e.g. PowerBI) in collaboration with technology teams
- Assist with working capital analysis, including interest calculations and cash flow considerations
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of accounting or product control experience in commodities, trading or a similar operational environment
- Strong accounting foundation (journal entries, debits/credits, month end close)
- Experience with inventory or reconciliation-heavy environments, ideally within physical commodities or inventory
- Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Power BI or data tools preferred
