Our client, a growing and dynamic organization in the insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Commercial Auto Underwriter to join their team. This is a fully remote position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a high‑performing underwriting team.
About the Role
As a Commercial Auto Underwriter, you will play a key part in evaluating, pricing, and managing a portfolio of commercial auto risks. You'll work closely with brokers, agents, and internal partners to deliver profitable growth while providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal commercial auto risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
- Analyze loss history, exposures, financials, and other underwriting data to determine appropriate pricing and terms.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers to drive quality submissions and profitable business.
- Make sound risk decisions and negotiate coverage, terms, and pricing.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product, actuarial, and claims, to support underwriting strategy.
- Manage a personal book of business, ensuring profitability and adherence to company standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Commercial Auto underwriting experience required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial auto products, risk assessment, and pricing methodology.
- Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Proficiency with underwriting systems and tools.
