Position Overview:
Our client, one of the top tier insurance carriers is looking to bring on an experienced Claims Specialist, NYLL adjuster to their team. This role will be responsible for managing a pending of NYLL claims while utilizing strategic decision making to maximize efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in Excess and/or Primary Casualty claims including New York Labor Law.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate claims by reviewing insured materials, pleadings, expert reports, and applicable laws, including risk transfer and indemnity issues.
- Evaluate coverage, liability, and damages; prepare coverage letters; involve coverage counsel when needed; and use their analysis to guide reserves and strategy.
- Develop and execute strategies for both coverage matters and underlying liability and damages to support overall case goals.
- Coordinate with TPAs, underwriters, business leaders, brokers, program managers, and defense counsel, while maintaining clear communication, timely reserves, and accurate claim documentation.
- Manage claim resolution through negotiations, participation in mediations and trials, use of structure brokers, and oversight of all steps needed for efficient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience handling NYLL claims.
- Proficiency in claims management software.
- Strong analytic and communication skills.
