Business Development Manager - New York, NY (Hybrid)

A high-growth firm in the expert network space is hiring a Business Development Manager to join its New York office. This is a client-facing role focused on building and expanding relationships with institutional investors and consulting firms.

You'll be working closely with decision-makers at private equity firms, hedge funds, venture capital groups, asset managers, and strategy consultancies-helping them access the insights they need to make critical investment and operational decisions.

This is not a transactional sales role. Success here requires a thoughtful, strategic approach to outreach, relationship-building, and long-term client development.

Responsibility

  • Identify and engage prospective clients across financial and consulting sectors
  • Lead tailored outreach efforts-email, phone, and LinkedIn-to initiate conversations with key stakeholders
  • Understand client workflows and position the firm's services as a value-add to their research and diligence processes
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through onboarding and ongoing relationship management
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met with speed and precision

Required Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in business development, sales, or client service
  • Background in working with or selling into research or consulting teams at financial institutions or consulting firms
  • Strong communication skills and a consultative approach to relationship-building
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
  • A track record of exceeding goals and driving revenue growth
