Summary: A leading credit hedge fund in New York, managing $10 billion AUM is seeking an AI/ML Desk Quant to join their Front Office Quant Strategies team. The Head of Quants, who has over 20 years of experience in this sector is enthusiastic about expanding their Quant team following a successful previous year. You will have the chance to work closely with the Portfolio Managers, developing quantitative models, working on data processing tools, and supporting common AI agents to automate tasks across investment teams. Success in this role requires a strong quantitative skillset, in-depth experience working with AI agents and ML models, and strong programming skills in Python and SQL. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the firm's portfolio managers, researchers, technologists, and investment team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with structured credit portfolio managers to develop, maintain, and enhance shared quantitative models and data infrastructure.
- Design and implement AI-driven tools and agent-based solutions to streamline workflows and improve efficiency across investment teams.
- Apply statistical and data science techniques to generate, test, and refine trading signals and investment insights for production use.
- Provide ongoing support for trading operations by troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data pipelines, models, and systems.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant front-office industry experience, directly supporting a trading desk or PM.
- Experience building and supporting AI agents, ML models, and large datasets.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- A Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field [Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, etc.]
- Ideally a background within the structured products or credit space, but any product knowledge is fine.
