Associate, Annuity Product Support
About the Role:
A leading financial services organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join its Retail Insurance Legal team. This position plays a key role in supporting the development and regulatory approval of annuity products, including fixed, indexed, and retirement-focused offerings. The Associate will work cross-functionally to ensure product documentation complies with legal standards and supports successful product launches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and refine contract language for new annuity products by collaborating with internal teams such as legal, compliance, actuarial, and sales.
- Manage timelines and expectations for state-level product approvals and ensure timely submissions.
- Interpret and apply insurance regulations to guide product development and ensure compliance.
- Communicate with state regulators to address feedback and facilitate product approvals.
- Prepare and submit product filings using SERFF, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Review and approve marketing materials to ensure consistency with product specifications and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of product forms and coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper usage.
- Support new product implementation by providing final documentation and disclosure requirements.
- Assist operations and third-party administrators in maintaining compliance for in-force policies.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with regulatory bodies and industry peers.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience in the annuity or life insurance industry, with a minimum of 3 years in legal, compliance, or product development roles.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, regulatory frameworks, and sales practices.
- Experience with annuity types such as 401K annuities, pension risk transfer, and funding agreements is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Professional, and familiarity with SERFF.
- Solid understanding of insurance administration and regulatory compliance.
