AI Development Platform Engineer
A leading high-frequency trading firm is looking for a backend-focused Software Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered developer platforms and engineering productivity tools. This team is responsible for improving how software is built, tested, deployed, and operated by creating scalable internal platforms, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
Responsibilities
- Build backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities that power AI-assisted software development.
- Develop integrations across source control, CI/CD, documentation, observability, and deployment systems.
- Create reusable AI workflows, tooling, and automation that improve engineering productivity.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify friction points and deliver platform solutions that accelerate development.
- Establish secure, scalable, and measurable frameworks for AI-enabled engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend, platform, or infrastructure development.
- Experience building internal developer platforms, developer productivity tools, or Developer Experience (DevEx) solutions.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, SDLC, release engineering, and cloud or containerized environments.
- Experience with modern AI developer tools, coding assistants, agents, or AI platform technologies.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of driving adoption of engineering platforms.
- Experience building AI development platforms, agent frameworks, MCP servers, or developer tooling.
- Background in platform engineering, DevEx, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
- Experience working in high-performance technology, financial services, or trading environments.
This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work 3 days per week out of the firms NYC office.
