Our client, a specialized advisory firm operating at the intersection of management consulting and M&A, is seeking an Advisory Associate to support its growing consulting practice within the Architecture, Engineering, and Consulting (AEC) sector. The firm is led by experienced partners with backgrounds across top-tier consulting and finance organizations.
Advisory Associates play a central role in delivering strategic and financial advisory services to executive leadership teams. This role offers meaningful exposure to senior decision-makers, hands-on project ownership, and the opportunity to rapidly expand both analytical and client-facing capabilities. Associates typically begin as individual contributors and, after an onboarding period, assume responsibility for managing one to two junior team members.

This position is fully remote, with current team members primarily based in New York, Denver, and Boston.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to advise AEC clients on strategy and corporate finance initiatives, including strategic planning, organizational design, benchmarking, and valuation analysis
- Support transaction-related work by conducting market research, competitive landscape assessments, and other diligence activities for investors evaluating AEC opportunities
- Oversee and mentor 1-2 Analysts, ensuring high-quality outputs across client engagements
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the firm's advisory offerings in collaboration with teams focused on technology, talent, and sustainability
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for multiple client engagements, providing guidance and responding to executive-level inquiries
- Perform ongoing research related to industry trends, emerging firms, and potential business development opportunities
- Assist colleagues across the firm as needed, consistent with a lean, team-oriented environment
Qualifications & Capabilities
- Bachelor's degree; backgrounds in finance, business, management, or accounting preferred
- 2+ years of experience in management consulting or a closely related field
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial or market modeling strongly preferred
- Strong project management, organization, and planning skills
- Comfortable presenting to clients or motivated to build client-facing experience
- Prior experience managing or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Familiarity with emerging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and interest in integrating them into workflows
- Detail-oriented with a consistent focus on quality and accuracy
- Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking and judgment
- Willingness to be hands-on and contribute wherever needed
- Ability to anticipate team and client needs and adapt in a dynamic environment
Compensation
- Base salary range: $125,000 - $140,000
- Eligible for performance-based bonus (50%+)
