Actuarial & Healthcare Analytics Analyst
Location: Greater New York City Area (Hybrid Preferred)
Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000 Base Salary
Experience Level: Early Career (1-3 Years)
A rapidly growing healthcare organization is seeking an Actuarial & Healthcare Analytics Analyst to join a lean, highly visible team supporting financial, actuarial, and population health initiatives across multiple lines of business. Responsibilities
- Analyze healthcare claims, utilization, and financial data to support business decision-making
- Develop and maintain reporting, forecasting, and actuarial models
- Support medical cost analysis, MLR reporting, accrual processes, and financial performance monitoring
- Extract, manipulate, and analyze large healthcare datasets
- Join and validate data from multiple sources using SQL and related technologies
- Partner with leadership to identify trends and business opportunities
- Assist with actuarial analyses and broader healthcare analytics projects
- Support ongoing initiatives related to value-based care, provider performance, and population health
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in actuarial, healthcare analytics, or a combination of both
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying and manipulating large datasets
- Experience with data extraction, table joins, and healthcare reporting
- Exposure to healthcare payer, provider, value-based care, managed care, or population health environments preferred
- Actuarial exam progress is a plus but not required
- Experience with AWS, SQL Server, or other cloud/data platforms preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment
