Vice President of Credit Investing
The position will be responsible for underwriting, investing in, and monitoring the investible universe of 2-3 industries. Your primary activities will include 1) conducting credit diligence on new issues in your industries as well as new ideas that you uncover 2) making investment recommendations to the fund PMs, and 3) monitoring the portfolio news and price moves on a daily basis in order to optimize your industry portfolio in light of fund needs. This position is in our company headquarters located in Dallas, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial fundamental credit analysis and ongoing position monitoring
- Optimize your portfolio of investments in light of fund needs
- Maintain robust investment research for all owned positions, including investment tear sheets, models, comps, third-party research, news, etc.
- Perform benchmarking analysis, valuation analysis and industry research
- Be the resident expert on the industries you cover
- Develop a robust dialogue with teammates, the investment committee and fund PMs
- Develop strong relationships with third-party analysts, such as desk analysts, bond and equity research analysts, industry experts, and peers
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in finance or accounting
- A range of 2-7 years post-undergrad credit experience at a commercial bank, investment bank (banking or research) and/or buy-side investment manager
- Solid modeling skills, strong analytical and financial acumen
- Attention to detail and a desire for accuracy
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach
- Intellectually curious with a strong desire to learn and grow
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and presentation skills
- Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment and add value beyond designated role/responsibilities
