About the Role
We are supporting a technology-driven energy trading company based in Amsterdam that is looking to strengthen its engineering capabilities with the addition of a Senior Full Stack Engineer.
This is a high-impact role within a small, senior environment where engineering quality, ownership, and long-term thinking are valued over fast delivery at any cost. You will play a central role in shaping both the technical foundations and the day-to-day execution of the company's internal platforms.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, product-minded, and comfortable taking responsibility across the full software lifecycle.

The company currently operates with a very lean engineering structure and relies heavily on a single core developer. As the business grows, there is a clear need to add a senior profile who can share ownership, reduce bottlenecks, and help professionalise the development process.
This is a deliberate, long-term hire focused on building sustainable systems and teams, not a short-term fix.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end full stack applications
- Build and maintain robust backend services and APIs
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Take ownership of technical decisions and contribute to architecture and system design
- Act as a senior point of reference for development work
- Collaborate with and help coordinate engineers working across multiple time zones
- Gradually take on responsibilities similar to a technical lead or product owner
- Continuously improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing systems

- Ability to work autonomously and make pragmatic technical decisions
- Product-focused mindset: you care about usability, scalability, and real-world impact
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a small team where responsibility is shared
- No specific industry background required - transferable skills matter more than domain experience
