Rice Trader - Dubai
We are seeking an experienced Rice Trader to join a growing agricultural trading platform based in Dubai, with a focus on physical rice trading across key global origins and destination markets.
The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a trading book, manage end‑to‑end physical flows, and build long‑term relationships with producers, exporters, and buyers across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade physical rice (including white, parboiled, broken, basmati, and non‑basmati) across international markets
- Originate supply from key producing countries and manage sales into destination markets
- Negotiate purchase and sales contracts, including pricing, payment terms, quality, and delivery
- Manage the full trade lifecycle: procurement, execution, logistics, documentation, and settlement
- Monitor global rice market fundamentals, freight, and price movements to identify opportunities
- Take responsibility for P&L performance and risk management
- Build and maintain a strong network of suppliers, customers, and service providers
Requirements
- Proven experience in physical rice trading within an international trading house or distributor
- Strong understanding of global rice markets, supply chains, and logistics
- Demonstrated P&L responsibility and commercial decision‑making experience
- Existing network across rice origins and/or destination markets is highly preferred
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial mindset
- Based in Dubai or open to relocation
