Regulatory Compliance Manager
A fast-growing global fintech company is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Manager to join its EMEA team, based in Amsterdam. This role is integral to the execution of the second line of defence compliance function and the maintenance of licensing obligations in the Netherlands and across the broader EMEA region. The successful candidate will also contribute to scaling the compliance function through the implementation of RegTech solutions and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory reporting obligations in the Netherlands and support similar activities across EMEA.
- Prepare and submit notifications for reportable incidents and material changes.
- Serve as liaison for regulatory and financial partner inquiries.
- Design and implement compliance testing and assurance programs.
- Identify and remediate gaps in regulatory adherence.
- Support internal projects requiring second line compliance input.
- Escalate material compliance issues and conduct inspections for non-compliance.
- Maintain and update internal compliance documentation.
- Provide compliance guidance on new products, services, and operational decisions.
- Organize and deliver compliance training for employees.
- Maintain regional compliance policies aligned with local and global standards.
- Monitor regulatory developments and update policies accordingly.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of experience in regulatory compliance within financial institutions, legal or consulting firms.
- Experience in FinTech is a strong advantage.
- Deep understanding of Dutch financial regulations and experience with DNB and AFM.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in other EMEA jurisdictions (UK, Lithuania, UAE, Israel is a plus).
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining compliance programs, especially in payments.
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to articulate regulatory obligations clearly.
- High attention to detail, excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
