A leading middle‑market private credit manager in NYC is seeking a high‑impact Private Credit Associate or Senior Associate to join its rapidly growing investment team. The firm specializes in non‑sponsored and special situations lending, offering the opportunity to work on complex, differentiated transactions in an entrepreneurial environment.
In this role, you will play a central part in origination, structuring, underwriting, and execution across a diverse set of credit investments. You'll work directly with senior leadership and have meaningful responsibility from day one-ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, merit‑driven setting.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree with strong academic background
- 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, direct lending, or private debt investing with at least 3 years of experience underwriting, structuring and executing direct lending or private credit transaction
- Superior analytical, thinking, presentation and communication (oral and written) skills
- Desire to join an entrepreneurial and rapidly growing platform
Responsibilities:
- Lead key aspects of the investment process, including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, and execution
- Actively contribute to origination efforts and relationship management
- Monitor and manage portfolio companies, ensuring adherence to investment guidelines
- Work cross‑functionally with a small, experienced team that values independent thinking and strong analytical insight
