Financial Controller
For an international logistics service provider headquartered in Rotterdam, we are seeking a Financial Controller who thrives in a fast‑paced, operational environment and is eager to grow within an internationally oriented organization.
In this role, the Financial Controller will work closely with the Finance Director, acting as a trusted sparring partner on financial reporting, processes, and internal controls. This is a hands‑on position offering broad exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to actively contribute to improving and optimizing financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly and annual closing activities
- Perform interim financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial forecasting
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors
- Handle VAT and corporate income tax filings
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
- Proactively contribute to improving and streamlining financial processes
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a finance professional with a strong hands‑on mentality and a clear interest in developing further within a dynamic, international setting.
- HBO degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in finance or controlling
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and process‑driven
- Comfortable working in an operational, fast‑moving environment
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
- Growth‑minded, initiative‑driven, and eager to take ownership
